New Porgera Limited, a leading name in the mining industry, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a Supervisor – Shovels and Drills in the Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance Section in our Mobile Maintenance Department. The Supervisor will be responsible for the immediate supervision of Shovel Pad personal and pass on directives from foreman and GF to work force via supervisors ensure all safety procedures are followed. 

The ideal candidate must have:

• Relevant tradesman qualification or certification preferred.
• Proven experience of minimum of 5 years in heavy mobile maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably with a focus on shovels and drills
• Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems and email
• Strong technical knowledge of shovels, drills, and related equipment
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing electrical maintenance challenges

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of tradesperson to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of shovels and drills and other heavy mobile equipment.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily work schedules, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. 
• Conduct regular inspections of heavy mobile equipment maintenance, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions as necessary
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
• Plan and execute shovels and drills maintenance programs
• Collaborate with other sections and departments to coordinate and optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime 
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices in all heavy mobile equipment maintenance activities
• Mentor and train junior staff members, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and all related rules and procedures.

Mobilization Requirement 

• All Applicants must have an up to date police clearance Certificate, Acquired within the last 6 months
• Ability to successfully pass a pre- employment medical and drug and alcohol test
• The rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 off
