The New Porgera Limited (NPL) now has a vacancy for qualified and experienced individuals in the following position of Specialist – Technical – Master Data. Reporting to the section superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining the master data related to mobile maintenance within the New Porgera Limited (NPL) mine. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and availability of critical data to support effective maintenance operations and decision-making.

 

The ideal candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in master data management, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment
• Strong technical skills in database management and data analysis tools 
• Proficient in using maintenance management software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent attention to details and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain data integrity under pressure
• Commitment to continuous improvement and learning
• Prepared to work to flexible company roster and to varied working hours as required to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain master data for mobile maintenance equipment, parts and other relevant items
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all systems and databases
• Perform regular audits and data quality checks to identify and rectify discrepancies
• Provide technical expertise and support to the mobile maintenance team regarding master data management
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve data-related issues and implement system improvements
• Develop and implement data management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to streamline data management activities
• Create Dashboards for Automated reports, generate and distribute regular reports for Senior Management 
• Analyze data trends and patterns to provide insights and recommendations for maintenance planning and operations
• Train and mentor staff on master data management best practices and procedures
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data management technologies
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & Procedures

 

Mobilization Requirement

• This position is open to PNG Nationals
• The roster is 28 days on and 14 days off
• Adhere to Covid19 Protocols 
• Must Have an up-to-date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
