Emergency Services Centre Assistant

We are looking for a highly organised individual to join the Emergency Services Centre (ESC) team as its ESC Assistant. Working as the ESC Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Emergency Services Centre, enabling it to provide its 24/7 services including the Home Emergency Alarm Response Service (HEARS), Public Space CCTV and Out of Hours emergency contact centre.
The ESC Assistant role is an administrative support role requiring good organisational skills and an excellent telephone manner. You will deal with customers, internal departments, and external agencies to support the day-to-day running of the Emergency Services Centre.
You will need excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with customers and other council services while excellent standards of customer service.
This role is based within the council`s Emergency Services Centre.
Based at Ipswich Borough Council`s Grafton House office, this role is 37 hours a week across Monday to Friday.
You will be enthusiastic and reliable with GCSEs in Mathematics and English. You will work in a thriving small team providing high standard customer service to customers of the Home Emergency Alarm Response Service (HEARS) and administrative support to the ESC as a whole.
Previous experience in dealing with the public and an excellent ability to operate windows-based software is essential.
You will need the ability to empathise with customers and their families and obtain and record information expediently and accurately to assist in the identifying and solving of complex problems.
Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
A Police Vetting Clearance will be required for this post.
