Our Level 4 merchandising apprenticeship opportunity will provide you with on the job experience at our Next Head office, as well as structured learning with the Fashion Retail Academy. You will work closely with our experienced merchandising teams to gain the knowledge, skills and experience to take on one of our Trainee Merchandiser roles and progress to Assistant Merchandiser and beyond.

What is Merchandising?
Merchandising at NEXT is like planning your own wardrobe: you make sure everything is balanced and there`s something for every occasion. RIght product, right time at the right price!
Day to day tasks include;
- Seeking out new opportunities for your department
- Analysing sales data whilst help predict forecasts for future seasons
- Managing stock levels between retail and online to gain the most sales
- Developing strong relationships and negotiating product lead times with suppliers all over the world
- Collaborating with different departments to get the best out of your product
The Apprenticeship
Your apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete and you will explore content areas through theoretical learning and practical application in our head office, where you will immerse yourself in the product life cycle.
The learning will be a mix of online, and face to face learning based at the Fashion Retail Academy’s brand new campus in London, opening in September 2024.
About you
We are looking for someone who is really comfortable working figures/numbers (highly numerate!), has the ability to interpret data and has a genuine passion for fashion and products.
You will need to have a natural interest in the commercial fashion world, be happy to work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to multitask.
It`s all about collaboration and great teamwork so you will need to be an excellent team player and communicator!
Eligibility
- Grades A - C, or 4 - 9 in Maths and English at GCSE
- UK resident and lived in the UK for the last 3 years
- A levels or equivalent equating to 112 UCAS points
- Happy to travel to London to complete learning modules
You will need to be available for an assessment centre week beginning 26th August, and a start date with us week beginning 16th September.
