Industry Manager - Sales (Chemical)
Job Summary:
If you are looking for an opportunity in the field of Industry Manager, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Industry Manager – Sales (Chemical) to caters to all customers in the India region for projects (KOB1, KOB2) and end user-based business (KOB3).
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Ensure compliance with Emerson ethics policy, trade compliance policy, business unit policy, safety, and quality program requirements.
- Keep up with developments in products, industries, competition, and market trends by acquiring data from the Project Pursuit manager, public domain, and subscribed newsletters.
- Building of specifications for major projects from the pre-tender stage by working in conjunction with the EPC/FEED consultants and influencing specs.
- Provide product level training, application-wise strategic selling pointers to Sales team thereby improvement support to EPCs, OEMs, End Users, and sales channels
- Weekly and Monthly calls with the regional and world area sales team highlighting key project activities, setting priorities and global agreement on set must-win projects for Chemical industry and related hybrid segments like Lifesciences, Polysilicon, etc.,
- Supporting Site walkdown, competition displacement, obsolescence & conducting technical presentations at key end-user sites enabling differentiation and crafting a preference.
- Collaborate with Application Team Managers & Drive MIB - Provide technical, and commercial input for KOB1 and strategic KOB2 proposals & ensure our bid is fit as per customer RFQ
- Qualify Strategic End User accounts in Chemical segment across regions to enable project funnel prioritization.
- Work with counterparts in AP/Marshall town to understand the Global key accounts in Industrial Gas space (Air Products, Linde, etc.) and Chemical and be up to date in terms of developments, Frame agreements, strategic projects, etc.
- Identify product gaps in Chemical industry & keep highlighting to AP/ Marshall town and seek vital support based on potential $ business.
- Identify & forecast specials (Bellows, Special Alloys) in upcoming Strategic must-win projects to help S&OP process.
- Support Direct & Inside Sales at technical bid evaluation to achieve and exceed set targets for Projects & MRO in a timely manner
- Fulfill any other reasonable duties as requested and support cross functional KAIZEN programs with OPNS.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Knowledge of control valves, Instrument portfolio, Specials & application engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years working experience in Control valves, Process and or relevant industry.
- Introspective Salesmanship skills - ability to perceive customer pain and influence decisions.
- Decision-Making Skills: ability to analyze a situation & establishes optimum progression path.
- Collaboration and to work in a team environment.
- Effective Presentation Skills-ability to present to all levels of the organization and customer organizations.
- To engage early in the project cycle with customers (end users & consultants) and build differentiation, drive preference and be able to spec in products & solutions.
- Strong business insight, ethics, and capacity for accountability- the ability to continuously exhibit a high degree of integrity and conduct to achieve trust and respect from others. Ability to act consistently to meet the required standard of professional business practice.
- Resourcefulness/initiative and creativity- capacity for self-development and ability to build opportunities, not to be limited by constraints, and to generate ideas from others.
- Work with the Flow Control Sales team, Project Pursuit team, and other business development managers to achieve sales targets by providing insights on product-project relatedness, and vision to qualify right prospects from the immediate funnel (3-6 months).
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Work experience with Fisher control valves.
- Knowledge of Fertilizers, Specialty & Petrochemical process, and special applications/needs.
- Experience in chemical, E&I, mechanical engineering or related field.
- Passion for customer service and exceeding customer expectations.
