Coordinator - Restoring Justice Initiative
The NPL Asset Protection Department (APD) is seeking expressions of interest for those who wish to apply for the role of Coordinator – Restoring Justice Initiative.
The successful candidate will report directly to the APD Manager.
The Coordinator - Restoring Justice Initiative, will be based in Porgera. They will be responsible for assisting the APD Manager, in the delivery of the Restoring Justice Initiative Program. The support provided by the Coordinator to the APD Manager will include establishing and maintaining close and amicable working relationships with formal justice agency personnel and community leaders, such that a coordinated delivery of law and justice services by all stakeholders is achieved. In addition, they will be required to attend meetings/conferences in the local community and other provinces if required.
The ideal candidate must;
• A valid and current PNG motor driver’s license.
• A Grade 12 or above Education.
• Police background at a middle management or senior management level.
• Investigations, prosecutions and family/sexual violence experience highly regarded.
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Training, mentoring and system development experience will also be highly regarded.
• Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
• Must have proven well-developed communication (speaking and writing), /public relations and negotiating experience; must be highly self-motivated and able to work well independently or as a team member.
• Must have good computer skills, proven experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and publishing software preferably in a Microsoft Office Suite environment.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work with a high level of tact and discretion
Key Responsibilities:
• Implementation and delivery of the Restoring Justice Initiative Objectives
• Assist and coordinate delivery of Law and Justice Services by all stakeholders
• Monitor the policing, public safety and crime prevention systems and business processes, identify improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives and improvements to methods.
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Provide comprehensive advice and recommendations to managers and staff on restorative justice processes, principles and best practice in ensuring courteous, compassionate and respectful support and service provision to restorative justice participants.
• Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
Mobilization Requirement
• This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
• Rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 days off
• Adhere to Covid19 Protocols
• Must Have an up to date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
