A little about me, the job and the person I’m looking for
I am 49 years old. I live with my Mum in a self-contained annex in Ufford. I work part time and enjoy the challenge that this gives me, both personally and at work. My job is in administration and sometimes I struggle with the organisational skills that are required for this position.
I have been diagnosed as having an autistic spectrum disorder (Asperger’s). I find communicating difficult.
I have great difficulty with organisational skills. I want to be organised but I don’t know where to start. I hoard things but describe this as collecting. I forget what I have here and have many duplicates. I can’t throw things away.
I need someone to help. I get distressed when my annex is cluttered, so I need help with trying to organise and to get it tidy and free from all this stuff. When it is tidier I hope to be able to clean things with some help.
I need help to de-clutter, but I cannot cope with just throwing things away, I need to talk it through as to why I don’t need it. But I also need encouragement to help me clear my space because I want to be able to see a real difference. I know it will make me happier.
I love music and like to have the radio or music on when I’m at home.

Main Duties
Although this job description is correct at present, it may change from time to time after negotiation with the post holder.
- To help me to de-clutter and organise my flat at my pace: room by room, area by area
- Talk through why I need to get rid of things I don’t need
- Help me to car boot/eBay
- Help with light housework duties
- To help motivate me with cleaning so I can make a tangible difference in my space.
Terms and Conditions
- Hours of work: 4 hours per week, to be worked over on a Tuesday and Saturday.
- Flexibility of hours: Hours are flexible, to be discussed in interview.
- Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks
- Background Checks: A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position.
- If successful, you will be required to provide details of two referees, one of which must be your current or most recent employer, or character references if you have not been employed.
- Trial Period: This post is subject to a probationary period of 12 weeks.

We provide services to people considering or already receiving Direct Payments or those who are in need of support to live independently and choose to employ their own staff to assist with this aim.
