Senior Officer – Knowledge Management, Learning and Advocacy

The Opportunity
The Senior Officer – Knowledge Management, Learning, and Advocacy will design and implement a comprehensive documentation plan for managing qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for the ECHO-funded Anticipatory Action project. This role supports field operations by overseeing reporting, ensuring compliance, and guiding partners in tracking MEAL records. Key responsibilities include enhancing communication and branding, developing strategies, designing advocacy and visibility plans, writing donor reports, MIS reporting and leading early warning campaigns.
The role involves content creation, social media management, and operational support to enhance visibility and impact, requiring expertise in strategic communication, media relations, photography, videography and content development, with strong skills in designing impactful messages and driving advocacy initiatives.
Additionally, the Senior Officer will coordinate with children, communities, I/NGOs, and government stakeholders on Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency response initiatives. The role of senior officer will be to develop and share best practices in the Anticipation HUB, promote Save the Children Bangladesh’s Anticipatory Action initiatives, and collaborate effectively with government departments, project partners, and key networks. The position also includes emergency deployment responsibilities in the humanitarian sector.
Qualifications and Experience
• At least 5 years’ of professional experience in Knowledge management/Reporting and documentation role/advocacy and Communication preferably in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Emergency response, Recovery and Anticipatory Action programme.
• Clear understanding on Anticipatory Action, Climate Change, resilience programming, strong knowledge of development and emergencies field dimension and global movement.
• Working experience as a Knowledge Management professional, Learning and Evidence, Communication and Reporting and Researcher would be added value.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of Humanitarian Architecture, National/ Global drivers of DRR, CCA, Anticipatory Action, Emergency, and social development programming.
• Proficient in crafting and executing impactful communication strategies for diverse audiences.
• ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Skillful in analysing policies and developing persuasive advocacy materials.
• Strong report writing and communication skills and ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Experience in content development and audio-visual documentation.
• Having Strong coordination, negotiation, mobilizing and facilitation skills.
• Ability to support and encouragement of knowledge sharing across the projects as a team player and capacity to portray great innovation
• Master’s degree, preferably in Disaster/Crisis Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Science, Economics, or relevant discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a professional certification in Humanitarian, Anticipatory, DRR activities.
