Software Engineer III
The Asset Management Workflow Technology team is a globally distributed team with presence in India US and UK. This team focuses on building and supporting the inhouse workflow platform used globally across Operations, Client Services, and Front Office. As a result, the role will require liaising with technology and business teams in Technology and the Asset Management business. The candidate will get exposure to various front- and back-office processes for multiple asset classes and interact with those teams as well as other technology teams
The role includes working closely with the Product team to understand the requirements, implementation new features and enhancements, as well as supporting end users in using the platform. As an individual contributor, the candidate must be a highly skilled Java Full stack developer with proven leadership qualities with experience of collaborating and working in a globally distributed team of developers, taking ownership of own deliverables as well as assisting and guiding junior developer on the team
Job responsibilities
- Develop or enhance products/applications in line with business requirements. Collaborate with internal users in Operations, Client Service, and Front Office
- Operate as a member of a Scrum development team to deliver technology solutions in an Agile fashion including, but not limited to, sprint planning, complexity analysis, standups, and sprint retrospectives, backlog grooming etc.
- Design, analyze, code, test, and deploy applications/components to satisfy business requirements for large, complex projects. Adhere to firm-wide architecture standards, risk management and security policies.
- Contribute to the efforts to migrate applications to new cloud-based environment
- Provide production support coverage
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java (Core or Enterprise), with a proven history of hands-on development and delivery, ranging from small incremental changes to larger Greenfield projects. Knowledge of architecture, design and business processes.
- Strong communications and documentation skills & proven history of ability to build strong relations with developers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Self-starter, keen to learn new skills and technologies and drive best practices.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java and related technology stack
- Hands on experience in building Spring applications is a must
- Web development experience (Angular/React preferred but will consider other web technologies).
- Experience using testing strategies such as TDD, including knowledge of JUnit and Mockito
- Experience using continuous integration tools, including Maven and Jenkins
- Experience managing assignments effectively, multi-tasking, and working within tight deadlines
- Agile development experience and Experience working in a globally distributed team
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Cloud engineering experience would be an advantage (AWS).
- Knowledge of relational as well as NoSql Document Database is highly preferred
