The School of Economics is seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Economics with an Autumn 2024 starting date. We are looking for people with expertise in any area of economics that connects well with the research interests of our current faculty.
The opportunity:
The School of Economics is seeking to appoint a candidate to a fixed-term, part-time [48 months, 0.2 FTE] position. We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrable potential to publish their research in high-quality refereed journals, to develop research impact, and to engage in public knowledge exchange activities in areas that closely connect with the research interests of our current faculty. In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to teaching and graduate-level supervision. The post is aimed at those who have a PhD in economics or a related field.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Must have a PhD in Economics at the time of appointment (Desirable).
- Must be able to demonstrate an existing or developing record of research with potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals in economics.
- Must have the ability to contribute to the school’s impact initiatives.
- Will have demonstrated the ability to make an outstanding contribution to the research activities and intellectual life of the School of Economics.
- Experienced in teaching. Ability to provide excellent teaching at all levels, and contribute to the design and development of teaching programmes (Desirable).
- Be able to provide high-quality supervision at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
