Vessel Planner:

• Prepare Crane Work Plan for vessels calling at the terminal.
• Vessel Planning Activities before the ship arrival to the Port to maximize the efficiency of resources
• Achieve Maximum Productivity and usage of resources including cranes
• Monitor execution as per plan and ensure that the load and discharge are performed accurately and timely
• Changes or modifies the plan if required and certifies the load plan for every shift daily.
• Prepares Reports as per a fixed schedule and generates performance Reports
• Responsible for ensuring that vessels sail at the earliest possible time possible
• Optimal Usage of TOS for Maximizing Operational Efficiency.
• Maximum utilization of available Quay cranes
• Stowage to facilitate high gross crane rates.
• Effective liaison with clients to obtain bay plans and import/export status plans.
• Monitor import and export stacks and liaise with the relevant Officer/ Sr. Officer/Executive, if stacking appears to be unsatisfactory.
• Prepare discharge and load sequences.
• Prepare “Order of Work” schedules in conjunction with the relevant Supervisor.

Yard Planner:

• Monitor and plan daily space availability for import and export containers based on vessel ETA’s and planned receivable and delivery programs.
• Planning and allocation of physical container stacks in the yard. 
• On arrival of the ship Plans where the cargo is to be stored as per agreed yard strategy. Liaise with Ship planners and Shift In charge regarding specific requirements for container stacking (imports and exports).
• Make provisions for break-bulk or OOG cargo as per p
• Jointly with the Planning Deputy General Manager take corrective steps to suggest modifications for making improvements in the yard strategy
• Monitors the system efficiently to ensure that cargo is not misplaced or lost or damaged
• Plan/arrange movement and control of import/export rail containers in accordance with requirements. Ensure rail imports are sent immediately to the rail siding or stacked close to the rail siding.
• Check daily that all export containers have been received as per the planned layout and plan any consolidations, which may be necessary. 
• Liaise with Sr. Officer – Operations (Gate Control) and clients to ensure timely release of containers.
