Job Details
The Development Co-ordinator (Health & Wellbeing) will lead and support the implementation of the Education Directorate Health & Wellbeing Strategy, in raising of standards in line with national priorities. The postholder will contribute to the implementation of policy and practice standards; training; the communication strategy and self-evaluation across key Health & Wellbeing areas, in particular those relating to the wellbeing of our staff.
The Development Co-ordinator (Health & Wellbeing) will:
- provide the Directorate with strategic and operational staff health & wellbeing advice and deliver a staff wellbeing action plan, in the context of the Health & Wellbeing Strategy, the Education Service Development Plan and the Fife Children`s Services Plan
- co-ordinate the work of addressing Education Directorate staff wellbeing issues in Fife, through planning and organising the specification, development, implementation and evaluation of the strategy to enhance the wellbeing of staff in the Education Service
- support the improvement in outcomes for children and young people through providing service improvement in local and national indicators and evaluating performance data against socio-economic indicators
- develop, through liaison with others (in particular HR and H&S sections) a package of strategies for improvement; provide intervention to identified establishments through the package that includes support for managing pupil behaviour and ensure an approach that is consistent with, and integral to, the overarching Health & Wellbeing strategy
- coordinate staff wellbeing projects across the Education Directorate, providing training and on-going support for staff wellbeing
- participate in the work of the Health & Wellbeing Governance Group and sub groups, linking with members of the Health & Wellbeing Governance Group in mapping and providing activities at three levels (i.e. policy and strategy; school and other systems/preventative; direct and individual)
- co-ordinate the provision of a range of responses to staff wellbeing issues: coordinating projects that cut across traditional boundaries, as well as co-ordinating and interpreting the analysis of returns from the Staffwise survey
Qualifications, Registration and Skill Requirements
Educated to SCQF level 9 which includes a degree or equivalent in Education, Social Work or Community Education or equivalent experience
Experience in developing policy and practise standards with the ability to support translation into practise
Experience of operational delivery within public sector with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Project management skills
The Person
Will be able to:
- work with the Quality Improvement Officer, Education Managers, School Leaders and practitioners to develop, plan and take forward the Directorate’s strategies relating to Health & Wellbeing
- identify, plan and assess progress of projects and manage their interdependencies in support of specific outcomes
- report on progress to Education & Children’s Services Committee, Local Area Committees and to Scottish Government as required
- consistently model positive behaviours in dealings with others
- undertake research/benchmarking
- reconcile competing priorities and deal with ambiguity and complexity
- demonstrate of continuous improvement, learning and development
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain *Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership. While the significant part of the role can be carried out remotely, candidates must be able to travel to and attend office and school locations in Fife as required.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
